It started with getting an offer on my phone for a delivery job, a double-order which had tight clustering, so both of the two pick-up locations and the two drop-off locations were all quite close together on the map. They were all close to directly north of where I was at the time, which was in the center of town. The time was early morning, pre-dawn. I recall considering the whole cluster of spots to be right at the border of my personal delivery zone. So I accepted the offer and got on the way. I started heading north, watched the GPS, until I got directly-east of the spots, so I turned left, headed directly west for the last few blocks to the location. I arrived in a location that was obviously a mall. I wasn’t too perturbed by that; I thought the two pick-up spots were likely to be in the mall relatively close to each other, so I thought it was likely I could grab them both quickly and be on the way.
The first one I found easily. I checked the infomap. I believe Lenny was there, and he pointed me toward the first shop, helped me get oriented quickly. So then it’s a bit blurry, but I had a lot more trouble and confusion finding the second, however. After picking up the first, I asked someone about the second, and was directed to a shop that was basically across the whole mall. When I got there I discovered that it wasn’t the right place; I was looking for a juice-bar/smoothie type of store, with the word ‘bar’ in its name, but this was some competitor store instead. So I asked someone else if she might know where the correct place was, and she pointed me down the street just a block away, indicating it was close. So I went to where she directed but found nothing. I was disappointed but mostly I was now just concerned about the total time because this whole searching process was causing delay, which would probably make the order arrive late for the customers, which makes them unhappy, obviously, plus it made the whole ordeal worth less to me as the driver, as the value of the trip diminished by taking much longer than usual. So, somehow I got the correct information about where the store was, and found out it was not actually very close to where I was; I just had to laugh at the inaccuracy of the GPS information in the app, like anything on this giant mall-block was shown as the same spot, but on foot, obviously it was a bit far.
I was able to just literally fly over to the right place, quickly checked in with one of the store employees. I noticed then that the original order was for like 7:30 am, and by then it was closer to 10:00, so ooof, not good at all, but at least I was finally getting some traction. So a lady made the smoothie and handed it to me; it was a gold/orangish color. Then I realized I had my hands full and couldn’t just pick-up and go immediately. I struggled for a moment to get my stuff situated so I could carry everything and not spill. I realized I had collected like 5-10 white rectangular stones that were stacked together in my pockets; individually they were about the size of a deck of cards. All together in a bundle, in my pockets, they were heavy for my pants, which were some loose-fitting sweat pants; maybe they were the ones I got from my grandpa way back when. These fortunately had a drawstring, so I cinched it tight so it’d be tight enough to hold up my pants with the weight of the white bricks. I then put on a pair of green shoes that were like the Vibram FiveFinger Spyridon’s that I used to run with, which up to that moment I must have been carrying in my hands. So that freed up my hands to hold the smoothie. I went outside, then realized it was a bit of a way back to where I had parked; at first I thought about running, but then I considered flying might get me back quicker. I considered that the white bricks amounted to something like a weight-belt, but I thought it might just work. Suddenly then I was levitating, my feet came off the ground so I was hovering about 5 ft off the ground. That drew the attention of a black dude with dreadlocks who was about 50 yds away; it must have seemed remarkable to him; he got his buddy’s attention to look over at me, like it was a novelty worth observing. I hovered for a few moments, not achieving much height or speed, then sort of lost precise control of my position, like treading water out in the surf when a wave came through. There was a small whoosh, then another one which kind of lifted me up and then I ended up in basically the same position, perhaps just shifted a bit right. The dream then ended, and I got the visual of my location on the map being essentially directly east, instead of north, of my original position before accepting the offer.
