I was somewhere outdoors with my dad on a rocky, sloped area, and it was daytime. I dropped my phone, which fell a bit further than what I’d consider a safe height, given that it had a nice shock-absorbent case, and a screen protector, because it landed screen-side down on a bit of a rock out-cropping. I was expecting some damage, like a spider-web style cracked screen, but I wasn’t terribly upset. I figured it’d be a new phone at worst, which would be about $300, so not ideal, obviously, but not going to bankrupt me. I hadn’t had the phone very long, so it was just a bummer that it would no longer be in the original, optimal condition, so just ‘not too cool’ as Jürgen Klopp might say. So I jumped down and picked it up, discovered that it had several cracks, but none of them were severe; it was still functional and operational, from what I could tell. The display and touchscreen still worked as normal; it just had a visible crack in the glass. Then I just went back up to where I’d been on the hill before.
