Dream: Special Deals, Evaluating Offers

The first thing I recall is being in a garage with Toto Wolff. We were chatting about some assumption I had about his team being able to acquire some products or materials for running or servicing the racecar at subsidized prices.  Like motor oil, for example — did his F-1 team get it for free or next-to-free because the parent company got the huge volume discount, etc, and thus passed it onto the team, so that the team could then invest its resources into projects which could have a bigger impact on reducing lap time?  I’m not sure he responded directly to my inquiry, but then I recalled that F-1 teams often had partnerships with the fuel/lubricant companies, so there had to be some kind of deal for getting real-estate on the car for branding in exchange for services which the team could utilize to its benefit.

Suddenly then I was observing an interview that a guy was having with Mr. Wonderful for a position which I gathered was for photography. Mr. Wonderful was basically like, “Ok we like you, let’s get the ball rolling on making a deal to work here.” The candidate seemed interested, but he wasn’t ready to commit.  He said that he had some standing offers from a couple different firms, and hadn’t made a decision yet.  I was curious about what I was seeing because I felt like the candidate hadn’t said much about himself, hadn’t demonstrated competence, etc, like one might expect in an interview.  So I thought maybe Mr. Wonderful was just trying to cut-to-the-chase, to find out where the guy stood by seeing how he reacted to an offer.  So I’m not sure if it resolved, but basically when the candidate expressed that he was still evaluating his offers, Mr. Wonderful then made a comment to him about him needing to figure out for himself what he really wanted to dive into.
