It started with meeting a guy outside of town in an elevated, somewhat remote location, which was like ‘around the bend’ as the saying goes. I don’t recall much detail about the on-goings while there, but suddenly we were on skis and going down a slope. I was behind the guy and he was carving pretty well– a good skier. Then the terrain became flat; the skiing turned into walking. Then I suddenly was using an app on my phone that was like a game that overlapped with reality by putting digital images over the camera view. In the game, the idea was to grab a ladder as it approached me by pressing a button at the perfect time. There was only a very narrow window of opportunity to secure it; it was like on a conveyor and the button-response was slow, so it ended up passing by. This created a bit of a decision: do I 1) wait there and try to grab another one, hoping one would come along in a reasonably short time, or 2) just keep going? I considered it and decided that the desire to make progress on the trip and the uncertainty of whether another would come available made #2 the better choice.
Then we arrived in a place I’d describe as a futuristic mall, and there was a particular building that I recognized as being like something out of the Westworld series. It had a reddish brown, dark copper-ish, metallic color, and lots of sophistication in its surfaces, almost like a faceted gem in the structure between the windows. I then spotted some black, vertically oriented, cylindrical robots behind glass doors on the upper level to my left. I seemed to know they were for security, and I felt like I would have been considered a threat or an enemy to them if they could read my deep mind or knew my history, but I didn’t believe they were sophisticated enough to suss me out that well. I still got a bit nervous as they coincidentally became activated soon after my arrival into the area. Fortunately, there was no conflict or confrontation with them.
We moved through the indoor, open, public type of area to an outdoor, adjacent space, which was like a sidewalk along the exterior of the building. I met up with a bunch of people who I knew, like a group of friends standing in line for a movie. I seemed to have made a ‘public’ decision to get back together with an ex-girlfriend, Caroline, who was there in line as well. It seemed like this decision was ‘news’ to the group, and perhaps to herself too. It wasn’t actually Caroline, however; this girl was younger and had a more caramel/mocha complexion. I stood behind her and leaned in to kiss the back of her neck. I noticed her hair was longer, darker, and more curly than Caroline’s. She was wearing blue.
Then suddenly the two of us were in a more private setting, like a downstairs finished basement or TV room in a house. I sat against the couch and seemed to gesture for her to sit in front of me so we could both watch the movie together.
